Painting is a kind of meditation for me. I paint to find quiet but also to play with colour and materials. 'Jellybabies' came about through experimentation with cool teals and deep greys, warm splashes of orange, olive and the quirky yellow bowl. Its glowing translucency was created with layers of acrylic paints and hand-printed collage elements giving an organic, highly textured quality to its surface.
