FAQ

Original Paintings

How can I purchase your original artwork?

My online art shop is the best place to purchase my original paintings. I tend to work in series or sets of pieces on particular themes or using certain media and colour palettes that I am exploring at the time. I offer either selections or a whole series in collections a few times during the year.

I post announcements about upcoming art and print sales on my social media accounts in advance but subscribers to my monthly newsletter are the first to get access to my shop when the collections are released. Sign up here!

What media do you use in your original artworks?

I work primarily in water based media including professional quality gouache, acrylic gouache, acrylic paints, inks, pencils and crayons. My pieces often include collaged vintage papers and/or hand painted and printed collage papers using acrylic paints. Each piece’s description includes more detail about media.

Will I own all the rights to your original artwork after purchase?

When one of my original artworks is purchased, it’s important to understand that I retain the rights to images of that artwork. This means that the buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without my written permission and that I retain the right to make or license reproductions (such as art prints or cards or other products) of any and all artwork I have created. If you have any questions about this policy, please get in touch.

Do you do commissions?

My current priority is to follow my own creative direction and to make pieces that resonate for me and hopefully, also resonate with you! My aim is to create a range of pieces and collections that I can share with collectors over the course of a year. But even though I don’t take on commissions at the moment, I am always pleased to hear your feedback about my work and what you would like to see more of in future collections.

Are the artworks in your online shop framed?

My paintings on wood panels are sold framed and shipped in beautiful professional frames.

My paintings on paper require frames with glass and are risky to ship without possible breakage and damage to the art in transit. However, I do supply each of my original artworks on paper mounted in a white archival mount (matt) with an archival backing board. You can take your mounted/matted artwork to a professional framer for a beautiful frame made to your taste. I highly recommend UV glass to protect all artwork from sunlight as well as dust.

Please note that any items in my Studio Sale are sold unmounted and unframed.

My giclée art prints are delivered to you ready to be put into a bespoke or ready made standard frame with or without a mount/mat. And, even though giclée inks are very lightfast, I recommend UV glass for all artwork and prints! Please do contact me for any advice on framing your purchase.

If you are in the Leeds UK area and intend to collect your purchase, I can arrange professional framing for your piece. Please contact me for advice and a framing quote before you order.

How is my original artwork packaged and shipped?

Each artwork is carefully packed using bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard to be as secure as possible in transit. For further information, please read my Shipping Policy before ordering.

Giclée Art Prints

What is a giclée print?

My giclée art prints are high resolution, colour corrected digital reproductions professionally printed on 100% archival cotton rag acid-free paper hand-signed on the front. I work with my printer to make sure my art prints are as true to the original artwork as possible. I strive to depict the colours in my prints as accurately as possible on my website and in my shop listings, but I can’t control how colour may be seen on different screens, devices and monitors. Rest assured, the print you purchase is as close to my original artwork as it can be!

My giclée art prints are limited editions printed to order locally. Once I have your print, I make every effort to pack and ship your order quickly but please allow 5 working days from making your order to dispatching it.

Do you offer larger print sizes?

I’ve worked closely with my printer to get the detail and quality of my giclée art prints perfect at the sizes I offer currently. If you are interested in having one of my current prints made at a larger (or smaller!) size, please contact me and I’ll see what I can do. And please note that once you mount/matt and frame your print, its outside dimensions may increase!

How is my art print packaged and shipped?

Giclée art prints sized 11x14 inches or smaller are securely packaged in a sleeve with a backing board inside and sent in a sturdy flat mailer. Giclée art prints sized 16x20 and larger are carefully rolled in tissue paper and sent in a sturdy mailing tube.
